This is what I do:
Run wiring from home theater receiver to speakers,
hook up source components, ie: computers, dvd players, dvd recorders,
dvr’s/satellite receivers to your A/V
receiver and then pass the video signal to your TV via HDMI or component video
cables.
Now you’ll be able to control all your sources from
your A/V receiver so that you'll have only one video cable to your display so
you won’t have to keep changing the inputs on your TV. If you have multiple
speakers and a Dolby Digital receiver your system will decode the 5.1 channel
audio signal for full-spectrum surround sound.

note: Although I don’t do in-wall wiring or wall-mounting, I can direct you to
someone who can at a good price.
